Worker-Bee, Companion and Guest Application

2027 Ski for Light International Week

West Yellowstone, Montana
January 17 – 24, 2027

If you would like to be part of the 2027 Ski for Light International Week, but do not wish to be a guide or skier, you may apply to attend as a Worker-Bee, Companion or Guest, as described below.

Worker-Bees are people who assist with the many non-skiing tasks that are necessary for a smoothly operating event. The four major ways in which Worker-Bees assist are:

  • Working a daily shift in the Information Room, answering attendee questions, preparing transportation and other schedules, selling tickets for extra meals, running errands, preparing spreadsheets, operating the lost and found, and similar tasks. Some people work a couple of hours per day in the Information Room and spend the rest of the day skiing or exploring the area.
  • Working one or more daily shifts in the Sales Room, helping shoppers as necessary, collecting money, running credit card charges, and similar tasks. The Sales Room is typically open for about one hour after breakfast, one hour before dinner, and one hour or more after dinner, each day from Sunday evening through Saturday morning.
  • Assisting in the set-up and operation of the Silent Auction. Set-up is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and the auction is usually Wednesday evening.
  • Serving as a race marshall or timer for the race and rally held near the end of the week.

Companions are people who attend the entire week with a spouse or friend.

Guests are people who attend just a part of the week, usually to be part of the Friday evening Norway Night and the Saturday evening banquet festivities.

Companions and Guests stay at the event hotel and join the group for all meals, but do not have any assigned jobs or tasks. They could be out skiing part of the day on their own, working in their room, sight-seeing, and so forth.

To apply to attend the 2027 Ski for Light International Week as a Worker-Bee, Companion or Guest, please complete and submit the form below.

If you have not already done so, please read the details of the 2027 Ski for Light International Week and the frequently asked questions about the week, as they contain much information that you will need to know before submitting your application.
