Mobility-impaired Participant Application

2027 Ski for Light International Week

West Yellowstone, Montana
January 17 – 24, 2027

If you have a mobility-impairment and are interested in cross-country skiing using sit skis, we invite you to apply for the Ski for Light event in 2027 by completing and submitting the form below. Beginners and experienced skiers are welcome.

SFL provides equipment at no additional charge, or you may bring your own. The setup consists of a pair of cross-country skis fixed to a rigid frame track width apart. The skier sits on the frame and propels themselves with poles in a double poling motion. If you aren’t sure if this is appropriate for you, Nicole Haley, the mobility-impaired participant applications coordinator, would be happy to discuss with you. Her contact information is at the bottom of the form below.

At ski for Light each mobility-impaired skier is paired for the week with an experienced able-bodied skier who skis beside or at times slightly behind the mobility-impaired skier. They ski in parallel tracks that are cut into the snow by grooming equipment. The able-bodied skier provides assistance only as needed or requested by the mobility- impaired skier.

If you have not already done so, please read the details of the 2027 Ski for Light International Week and the frequently asked questions about the week, as they contain much information that you will need to know before submitting your application.

After you submit your application form, you will receive a copy of your submission, sent to the email address that you provide below. Thank you for applying and we look forward to seeing you in Montana.
