Please read the information on this page carefully before making your travel plans to attend Ski for Light 2012. After your plans are made, please send us the details of your plans on the 2012 Travel Form which is linked near the bottom of this page.
Your scheduled day of arrival at the Provo Marriott is shown in your Acceptance Letter. For most people this will be Sunday, February 5th. Major exceptions are Board members, who arrive on Thursday February 2nd, Guide Trainers, who arrive on Friday, February 3rd, and first- and second-year guides, who arrive on Saturday, February 4th.
If you wish to arrive or depart on a day different from what is shown in your acceptance letter please be sure to discuss your wishes with your Applications Coordinator before making your final plans.
Unless you are driving to Provo, you will want to fly into and out of the Salt Lake City airport for your trip to Ski for Light. The Salt Lake City airport is about 40 miles from Provo.
You may make your own plans for getting to the Provo Marriott from the airport, or meet the SFL contingent at the Salt Lake City Airport (SLC), from where free hotel shuttle transportation will be provided, on designated days and at designated times.
SFL transportation from the SLC airport to Provo will be provided on Thursday February 2nd, Friday February 3rd, Saturday February 4th and Sunday February 5th. Transportation from the Provo Marriott back to the airport will be provided only on Sunday February 12th.
If you wish to take the SFL shuttle bus, plan to arrive at the airport no later than 3:00 pm, as the last bus to the Provo Marriott will depart no later than 4:00 pm. On departure day, plan your flight for no earlier than 9:00 am.
If you schedule your arrival or departure at a time that does not coincide with the service that SFL is providing you will need to arrange your own transportation, at your own expense. In such situations you may wish to arrange transportation with Express Shuttle at (800) 397-0773. As of August 2011, the one-way fare is $33 for one person, $48 for two persons, and $63 for three persons, with advance reservations.
If your plans change after submitting the Arrival and Departure Form please come back to this site and submit a revised form.
