Assistance is not available to applicants arriving early and/or staying late at the event hotel, or to applicants with a single room.
If you would like to be considered for financial assistance, please provide your total household income and a narrative paragraph describing why you need financial assistance. Pescatarian - includes eggs, dairy products and fish as well as other sources of protein (legumes and soy) but no red meat or poultry.
NOTE: The standard and pescatarian menu options are the only menu options that will be available during the week. SFL is able to secure affordable meal prices that benefit all participants by limiting the menu options to just these two. Thank you for understanding and cooperating with these choices.
19. Our first priority in pairing guides and participants is to meet the needs of participants. Experience has taught us that, in almost all cases, this is best accomplished by matching: first-time guides with visually-impaired participants who have previously attended SFL, first-time visually-impaired participants with experienced instructor/guides, and mobility-impaired participants with experienced instructor/guides. Within these guidelines, however, we will attempt to honor your request as to the type of participant with whom you would like to be matched, as indicated below. (Choose one from each line.) Female Male Either Beginner Experienced Either 5k rally skier 10k racer Either Visually-impaired Mobility-impaired Either
20. Veteran guides only: we sometimes have a few visually-impaired participants who also have a hearing impairment that requires the use of a radio transmitter and receiver for communication between guide and skier while skiing. Would you be willing to guide such a participant this year? Select One Yes No
21. Since SFL is both an instructional program for beginning skiers, and an opportunity for advanced skiers to hone their skill level and technique, the range of skier goals for the week will be quite broad. Taking into consideration your own personal health and physical condition, IF IT IS POSSIBLE, which type of skier would you prefer? Select One A skier who skis hard over considerable distance every day to improve his/her competitive skills. A skier who skis more recreationally than competitively but skis a good distance every day. A skier who skis recreationally and doesn't cover too great a distance every day. A skier who skis at a more leisurely pace over relatively short distances. No preference.
